Charlemagne's Treatment of Foreigners

Charlemagne liked having foreigners, both in the palace and in the kingdom. He wanted to take them under his protection and he would go through great pains or suffering to do so. The foreigners were not a nuisance to Charlemagne even though there were so many of them. The annoyances did little to disturb Charlemagne. These inconveniences or hassles he has to go through with the foreigners were praised by his generosity and was a reward for his own.
